Obligatory links page for friends and others

Everybody's got one of these, right? Well, here's a laundry list of people, companies, and others that I find noteworthy:

  • CAPP Records
I work for and am affiliated with this independent record label out of San Francisco. They produce and import a wide range of dance music in a wide range of styles. I encourage you to check them out.

  • Allen & Heath
UK-based makers of lustworthy mixers for DJ and audio production, including the Xone:4D (pronounced "zone") that I use pretty much daily.

  • Native Instruments
The Germany-based makers of Traktor Pro, the DJ software I use in my sets. I have a bit of a love/hate relationship with these guys... Their stuff is over-priced and their support is so-so at best, but Traktor—for better or worse—is unparalleled.

  • M-Audio
Maker of affordable audio products for DJs, musicians and more. I use their Trigger Finger and Axiom 25, among other things.

  • Behringer
German manufacturer of audio products, also for DJs, musicians and others. I use (and love) their studio monitors.

  • Shure
The world's finest microphones in my view.

  • Stanton
Maker of interesting DJ products, including turntables and the brilliant Uberstand. Gotta love their tag line: "DJ for life." Yeah, I do, actually.

  • Etymotic Research
I have extremely sensitive ears, and I intend to keep them that way. Hearing protection is crucial to me. Whether I'm DJ'ing in a club, or dancing to someone else's grooves, I always (always) wear Etymotic high-fidelity earplugs, and I would highly, highly suggest you do too. What's your hearing worth? Is $12 cheap enough for you? Go buy a set of Ety•Plugs. And while you're there, pick-up a pair of the awesome ER•6 in-ear noise isolation earphones. On your next airplane trip, you'll be glad you did (assuming you're an iPod user).
